Authorities in Pattaya may lift lockdown measures on May 5 after studying Covid-19 closely, while remaining wary of a new outbreak.
Pattaya mayor Sonthaya Khunpluem said on Friday that there had been no new cases since the city enforced a strict lockdown on April 16.
On May 5, the city would have completed a three-week lockdown, considering Covid-19’s incubation period. However, another outbreak is still possible and the city is preparing preventive measures, he said.
Pattaya city imposed the first blockade on April 9, closing five city accesses while eight checkpoints were set up during the second lock on April 19.
